Pre-Onboarding

This page is for two kinds of people: those who have said yes to an offer, and those who are curious enough to want to know what happens after. Either way, welcome.

The specifics depend on where you are based. Jump to the section that applies to you.

Offer Letter

Your offer letter will arrive via email through a document signing tool. Read it thoroughly. If something is unclear or you have questions, write to ops@plane.so. When you are ready, sign it electronically.

Getting to the Office

The office is here. Coordinate your Day 1 arrival time with the People Operations team so your first morning is not spent figuring out logistics.

Office Hours

Plane runs Monday to Friday. We expect a focused 8–9 hour day, breaks included. When that day starts is up to your team — marketing tends to start early, engineering tends to start later. Talk to your manager and find a rhythm that works for the work you do and the people you work with. What matters is the work, not the optics of being seen at your desk.

The Office

Two floors. Ergonomic furniture. A fully stocked pantry on each floor — beverages, snacks, the works. The rest you will discover when you get here.

Your Introduction

At least one day before you start, send a short introduction to Nitin, our Head of People Operations. We will use it to introduce you to the team on Slack. Keep it real — your background, what you care about, something interesting about you. This is not a formality. It is how people start knowing you before they have met you.

Documents Checklist

Bring soft copies of the following on Day 1:

  • PAN Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Passport — first and last page
  • Degree certificate or marksheets from your most recent educational program
  • Full and Final (FnF) settlement letter or relieving letter from your previous organisation
  • Last 3 months' salary slips from your previous employer
  • UAN (Universal Account Number)

Flag missing documents early

If any of these are unavailable or still being processed, flag it with the People Operations team before Day 1. Do not wait until you are in the room.

Your Gear

Everyone at Plane gets a MacBook. Depending on your role, there may be a short lead time for procurement and setup. If your machine is not ready on Day 1, you may need to use your own device for a few days. We will make sure you have all the access, tools, and security setup to hit the ground running regardless.

Relocation

If you are moving to Hyderabad, we get it — picking a neighbourhood in a new city while also starting a new job is a lot. To make it easier, ask your manager or the Head of People Operations and they will share a sheet with a list of accommodations nearby — put together by Plane team members, with up-to-date information on where people actually live. It is real data from real people, not a curated list from a property portal.
